SWIFT+R™ Crisis Harness Training

It's that heart-in-your-throat moment, isn't it?

You're a Support Worker or a Manager on shift. A crisis is escalating. You feel that shot of adrenaline, the panic, the burnout. You're thinking, "What's the right thing to do here? How do I keep everyone safe without making it worse?"

This is the single biggest cause of staff stress. This is why we built the SWIFT+R™ Crisis Harness Training.

This is our 3-4 hour "Level 2" workshop. It's not a generic "behaviour qualification"; it's a specialist, trauma-informed incident response model. It's designed and delivered personally by our founder, Ash, to give you a clear, 6-step plan for any "red zone" moment.

What Is SWIFT+R™ Crisis Harness Training?

This is our 3-4 hour, live online workshop for up to 12 staff.

It teaches you the six practical, in-the-moment steps of our SWIFT+R™ Crisis Model (S to +R). This is the "emergency harness" that works with our everyday SPARK Care Framework.

This course is our "how-to" guide for building confidence in complex situations. It's built to be "Neuro-Smart," meaning it's designed for the reality of neurodiverse children (ADHD, Autism, PDA) and is based on our founder's 5 years of frontline management and lived experience.

This Is Not "Accredited" - It's Specialist & More Valuable

Let's be blunt. This is not a generic, "CPD-certified" course where you click "next" and get a badge.

This is a specialist, founder-led training in a unique, high-value framework. When you complete the session, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from AshDHD Learning.

This certificate proves something more valuable than a generic CPD point: it proves you have been trained by the framework's creator in a specific, "Neuro-Smart" model for crisis prevention for care staff.

How We Align with Ofsted Expectations and National Best-Practice Principles

Our model is a trauma-informed incident response framework, not a restraint technique.
SWIFT+R™ reflects the principles found across the Children’s Home Regulations, SCCIF expectations and NICE de-escalation guidance by:

  • Prioritising proactive de-escalation: The "S - Safe Stance" and "W - Words Few" steps reduce threat, prevent overload and lower the need for restrictive intervention.
  • Focusing on neuro-smart co-regulation: The "I - Immediate Regulation" step offers low-arousal co-regulation tools so staff can stabilise the young person’s nervous system, not confront it.
  • Making repair non-negotiable: The "+R - Repair and Connect" process restores dignity and belonging after an incident, a core thread across modern trauma-informed care frameworks and Ofsted’s expectations for relational practice.

Learning Outcomes: A Clear Plan for Crisis

When you complete the SWIFT+R™ workshop, you and your team will be able to:

  • Confidently use the six practical SWIFT+R™ steps.
  • Understand the "Neuro-Smart" difference (e.g., why "too many words" makes a crisis worse).
  • Use your SWIFT+R Pocket Card and Incident Reflection Sheet as practical, on-the-job tools.
  • Feel more confident and less stressed during "red zone" moments.

A: All frontline care staff and Deputies. It's for anyone who manages complex behaviours and high-stress incidents and needs a clear, consistent plan for trauma-informed incident response.

Q: What will I learn?
A: You will learn the six practical steps of the SWIFT+R™ model. This includes "Neuro-Smart" de-escalation (like W: Words Few), co-regulation techniques (I : Immediate Regulation) and the vital process for restorative +R: Repair & Reconnect.

Q: Is this training "accredited"?
A: This is a specialist, founder-led framework, not a generic CPD course. You will receive a Certificate of Completion from AshDHD Learning, proving you have been trained by the framework's creator in this specific "Neuro-Smart" methodology.

Q: How does it reduce incidents?

Barriers to ND Adaptation in Care Staff: Why It Happens and How to Fix It
You can have the best care plans in the file, but they are useless if your floor staff refuse to execute them. Managing a team that clings to "old school" punitive methods while you try to implement trauma-informed care is exhausting. It creates a toxic cycle: the child escalates, staff respond with rigidity, the placement breaks down, and you are left explaining the failure to OFSTED and the LANT

Predictable Routines to Reduce ND Meltdowns in Residential Care
Managing a home where escalations are the norm is unsustainable for your staff and traumatic for the children. You deal with sudden aggression, property damage, and the constant, exhausting anticipation of the next crisis. This isn't just "challenging behavior" - it's a physiological response to a world that feels chaotic and unsafe. You need more than patience; you need a structural framework that stabilizes the environment before a meltdown even begins.
